In this upcoming talk, James is happy to introduce his son, Adam Baraz, who will share intimate reflections on the recent completion of his fifth darkness retreat,  a 49 day “Bardo Retreat” at the Sanctuary for Inner Peace in Tuscany, Italy. Adam will discuss the psychological / physical / emotional / spiritual journey of “being alone in the dark” for 7 weeks.  He will explain the practical aspects of preparation, meditation practice, challenges, and benefits of extended darkness retreat practice.

Mindfulness of Emotions

Turning toward our emotions with acceptance and care, rather than aversion, is part of the path of insight. Our practice entails both inner and outer wise response; mindfulness of emotions is an important aspect of inner response.
